Maj Karma farewell tour will be seen at Qstock this summer
Formed in Harjavalta, Finland in 1992, Maj Karma are a true cornerstone of heavy Finnish rock music. The group have now decided to end their career in a farewell tour of six cities. Maj Karma’s final Oulu show will take place at Qstock.
At the end of last summer, Maj Karma’s lead vocalist Herra Ylppö used the social media to announce that he was quitting the group and a set of farewell performances were being planned. This came to pass, and now the group will appear in front of loyal fans for one more tour entitled Jäähyväiset (”Farewell”).
Early in their career, Maj Karma gained fame with their intense shows and melancholy material. Released in 2006, the album Ukkonen rocketed to #1 on the official national charts and fixed Maj Karma’s status as a major Finnish rock group for good. The farewell tour will feature the band’s longest-standing lineup, including Herra Ylppö (vocals), Häiriö Piirinen (guitar), J. Savolainen (drums), and Kimmo Kurittu (bass).
