New announcement: Ellinoora: Pop Symphony Concert at Qstock
Four-time Emma Award winner Ellinoora is the latest artist to be confirmed for Qstock in Oulu. The artist, who played to a sold-out crowd at Nokia Arena in November, will return to her former hometown together with Sinfonia Lahti (Lahti Symphony Orchestra). The unique “Ellinoora: Pop Sinfonia” concert programme features more than a dozen symphonic arrangements of Ellinoora’s biggest hits from her more than 10-year career.
“Ellinoora’s music is perfect for performing with an orchestra. The songs are melodically and harmonically intriguing, and they contain great emotions and drama. All the qualities needed for fine orchestral arrangements are already present in the music. Combining orchestra and pop music allows us to emphasise the grandeur and power of the music as well as its sensitivity,” comments conductor Ako Kiiski.
“Ellinoora herself has a clear picture of what Pop Sinfonia entails. It’s great to be able to bring this vision to life in collaboration with Ellinoora and the wonderful Sinfonia Lahti.”
The 22-piece Sinfonia Lahti is an internationally successful top orchestra that, in addition to performing classical music, has played with Apulanta and interpreted movie soundtracks, among other things. Ellinoora’s own band will also take to the stage on the Qstock Friday evening.
For the artist herself, this collaboration is a dream come true.
“I want to offer the audience a concept they will never forget. Pop Sinfonia is going to be incredible. Come and see for yourself,” she says.
