The heat didn’t slow down sold-out Qstock

Qstock and heatwaves seem to go hand in hand. On Friday, the temperature hovered around 30 degrees Celsius for much of the day. Thanks to experience from previous summers, there were plenty of water stations available. Shaded areas disguised as art installations and a misting system were also in high demand.

For Saturday evening, weather forecasts predicted thunder and lightning, but the storm clouds conveniently dried up before reaching the festival area.

Friday night’s headliner, Norwegian DJ-producer Alan Walker, brought a spectacular light show to Oulu, complete with lasers, fire columns, and fireworks.

“Alan Walker’s special effects were exceptionally large-scale for our festival,” says Festival Director Mikko Forstén.

Saturday’s finale featured a nostalgic performance by Ultra Bra, made even more memorable by large, colorful LED balls bouncing among the crowd. The group, temporarily reunited for a few shows, performed with the biggest lineup in Qstock’s history, nearly 30 musicians and singers took the stage.

Qstock was sold out for the twelfth consecutive time. The festival once again drew a total of 40,000 visitors over two days.

Qstock will return on July 24–25, 2026.
