Ellie Goulding and Megadeth to Headline Qstock!
Ellie Goulding, one of the brightest British pop stars, will headline Qstock’s Saturday event next summer. Goulding has won numerous significant music industry awards during her career, and her songs have been streamed online more than 40 billion times. All four of Goulding’s albums have sold platinum in Finland. The fifth album is due for release in March, and all single cuts from it so far have been greeted enthusiastically.
US metal giant Megadeth will take over the Main Stage of the festival in Oulu on Friday. Formed 40 years ago, the group thrilled both fans and critics with their sixteenth studio album last autumn.
Also confirmed for Qstock is rapidly rising Norwegian pop star Dagny whose new album will be released in May. Besides writing her own music, the artist has also written songs for other singers, such as Katy Perry and Kygo.
Qstock will celebrate its 20th anniversary with other newly confirmed acts such as ALMA, Isac Elliot, Olavi Uusivirta, Battle Beast, Averagekidluke, Insomnium, Lauri Haav, KUUMAA, Michael Monroe, and Turmion Kätilöt.
“About half of our acts for the summer have now been announced. The programme for this anniversary year will be a nostalgic peek into the past and a glimpse into the future at the same time. We will see big international stars and promising newcomers. Also, the festival venue will undergo changes when it comes to services and sideshows. But we will go deeper into that in the spring. In any case, the anniversary festival is going to be beautiful,” says Festival Director Mikko Forstén.
Sales of single-day tickets for Qstock will commence on Wednesday, 8 February on Ticketmaster’s ticketing channels.
